After a few months of absence, Wings of Renewal has returned!

I’ve worked on a great many things since first publishing Viral Airwaves, back in February 2015, but of everything I did during those two years, building Wings of Renewal might be the thing I’m most proud of. Solarpunk is a beautiful and budding genre, with too little canon works out there. While I touch on it with Viral Airwaves, I had never published something intentionally solarpunk before I set to work on this anthology. Now I have this anthology, along with two short stories in Solarpunk Press, and I’m glad I contributed to a growing list of voices exploring the genre.

But enough of that. Let’s talk about what’s new with this second edition! In short: not much, and everything.

Instead of the 22 stories once contained, Wings of Renewal now features 19 tales. Although the three missing stories will be missed, the anthology remains a rich and varied compilation

We have decided to put actions behind words. There is much to be done before the vibrant and hopeful vision of solarpunk comes to life, but activists every day fight for it. All of Wings of Renewal’s royalties will be donated to environmental organizations and activities, with priority to Native actions. Several authors chose to forego their token payment for reprint rights and instead donated it to the Standing Rock Camp, so we’re starting with a $ 160 donation!

So if you’re interested in the anthology, know that your money would go straight to battling climate change and helping Native Americans and First Nations fight for their rights and lands.

Wings of Renewal launches on January 25th, but you can already preorder it in most online retailers (Amazon, Kobo, Nook, iBooks). I’m hard at work on the paperback as we speak and hope to have it ready before the end of the month or early in February.
